Cthulhu Slippers is an idea for a web comic that Cameron Gibbs and Andrew Jack had while working thankless customer services jobs and addled from lack of sleep. It went through multiple incarnations until it was shelved for other projects. It’s been brought back with the help of artist Natalie Metzger and with Andrew forgoing sleep for the foreseeable future.
The idea for the name comes from these Plush Cthulhu Slippers. If you click that link and do decide to adorn your feet in the likeness of Cthulhu then we get a little cut from Amazon, so you can keep your feet warm and support the comic at the same time!
Andrew has been writing for most of his life, even getting his first rejection letter from Random House at the age of four. They were very nice about it; suggesting he learn to read and write before submitting again. He runs his own writing site Andrew Jack Writing where he does his best to act as a dire warning to other writers about the dangers of World Builder’s Disease.
Andrew currently writes the scripts for Cthulhu Slippers but can’t draw, not even stick figures. He’s to blame for the website.
Natalie Metzger is the cartoonist behind several webcomics including The Secret Lair, Radio Isopod, and All Write. Her illustration work focuses on creepy cute comic style drawings with a preference for pen, ink and tentacles. She has applied her skills towards logos and illustrations for many podcasts and written works. Natalie was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and since has resided in Eastern Washington, Northern California and the Portland-metro area. She received her MS in Engineering from Portland State University and her BS in Engineering from the University of Portland. Based in Camas, Washington, Natalie also enjoys home brewing, gaming, photography, gardening and SCUBA diving.
You can find more of her work at The Fuzzy Slug.
As co-creator of Cthulhu Slippers, Cam was heavily involved in the early scripts. He also fulfils the dual role of being Andrew’s best friend and worst enemy. He spends his time hurling abuse at Andrew from afar and skiving off to find ice cream at any given opportunity.
